We’ll have insights and breakdowns based on 45 years of going to Friday night games with an overview of the state’s top teams and what’s coming up that just can’t be matched. Note: Look for a brand new State Top 50 set of football rankings that won’t simply be a list on Monday night. Biggest upset may have been Pacifica of Oxnard going down to Cajon (San Bernardino) in CIFSS D3 playoffs.

Most common result this weekend is “Bye” or “Did Not Play.” There were some huge matchups in the CIF Southern Section D2 playoffs since the losing team is going home for the season and all 16 teams in the bracket (due to competitive equity seeding) are all top 50 teams or close to it in the state. QB Madden Iamaleava of Warren was reported with 443 yards passing and four TDs. In one of the top games in the state on the night, Warren of Downey topped previous 10-0 Tustin, 34-33, and on this play Eimesse Essis of Tustin is running the ball against the Warren defense.
